Dette panelet med internasjonale skribenter/kritikere vil utforske kunst- og kulturkritikkens effektive potensial, inkludert alternative former for kritikk.
Selv om anmeldelser er sterkt etterspurt av kunstnere og institusjoner i regionen, er det få mediekanaler i Rogaland som publiserer kunstkritikk, og det å skrive og publisere kritiske refleksjoner i et tett sammenkoblet og lokalt kunstmiljø byr på egne utfordringer.
I denne panelsamtalen stiller vi spørsmål som: Hva om vi utvider ideen om kunstkritikk? Finnes det måter å se og skrive om kunst på som styrker både skribenten og mottakeren? Og er det mulig å lette på presset rundt kunst- og kulturkritikk som format, uten å miste dens kraft? Når vi står overfor den internasjonale fremveksten av høyreideologier, hva er kunstkritikkens ansvar og potensial?

About OSS
Open studios Stavanger & Sandnes (OSS) was held for the first time the weekend of September 30 – October 1, 2023.
The initiative comes from artists in the studio houses Tou Atelierhus and ELEFANT in Stavanger, and Stasjon K in Sandnes. All professional artists in Stavanger and Sandnes are invited to open their studios to the general public.
During the weekend, the public is invited into the artists’ studios, they will get a unique insight into individual artistic processes and be presented with new works, some works will be available for sale.
