Tove Kommedal works with various techniques, with sculpture and installation as the core elements, focusing on underlying concepts and themes.

Tove Kommedal debuted at the Vestlandsutstillingen in 2004. Kommedal has participated in several solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Highlights include solo exhibitions such as ‘KUTI’ at Veksle Exhibition Space Haugesund in 2025, ‘Post’ at Hå Gamle Prestegard in 2025, and ‘Oxymoron’ at Østfold Art Center in 2022. Group exhibitions include: ‘The Autumn Exhibition #137’ 2024, ‘Konstruksjoner’ at KinoKino Art Hall, Sandnes 2022/23, and ‘From the Balcony’ at Stavanger Art Museum in 2020. Kommedal has gained international recognition with art films shown at Nordisk Salong in the Faroe Islands (2019), Forårsutstillingen at Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2018), and Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition (2015). Kommedal has received several grants, including the Norwegian Visual Artists Fund (2025-2006), Rogaland County Council’s Cultural Grant 2024, and Stavanger Municipality’s Work Grant 2023. Project funding comes from the Norwegian Arts Council, Regional Project Grants (KiN), and the Norwegian Visual Artists Fund.

Kommedal is currently working in wood towards a solo exhibition at Galleri Kraft in Bergen. The project combines her methodical approach to meditation, inspired by Carl Gustav Jung’s theories, and explores third-generation trauma as a central theme.
