Body, gender, identity, and nature are central themes in the artistic practice of Marit Victoria Wulff Andreassen (b. 1971). With drawing as her primary medium, she explores the boundaries between the recognizable and the undefined, the masculine and the feminine, the beautiful and the repulsive. Andreassen is best known for her pen and colored pencil drawings, but she also works with painting and large-scale wall drawings/paintings. Her work has been described as both beautiful, disturbing, humorous, and grotesque.
