Inger Bruun works in painting, drawing, glass and metal, lithography (formerly), watercolor, ink, collage, and oil pastels.

Her works are imaginative and whimsical. Bruun draws on her free imagination, often beginning with a dot or a line that gradually evolves into its own universe. Inger Bruun is represented in several collections, including Stavanger Art Museum, the National Museum of Norway, Skien Visual Arts Association, and BP Stavanger. She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the National Museum, Sølvberget Gallery, Galleri Opdahl, Sandnes Art Association, Galleri Gann, Haugesund Art Association, among others. Bruun has completed public art commissions in Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger, Skien, Notodden, and more. She has been working on a major public art project for the new Stavanger University Hospital. The installation began in August 2024.
