Anna Ihle
Tou Atelierhus
Tou, Kvitsøygata, Stavanger, Norge
Anna Ihle’s artistic practice is both social and sculptural, and for several years she has investigated norms that help people organize their lives. The structures and narratives that people carry with them, used to defend lifestyle choices, motivate her practice. Her works often take their starting point in a social situation and can take the form of video installations, sculptures or conversations. Her current investigations draw inspiration from conspirituality, as well as the ambiguous value of “authenticity” in city development projects.
Ihle has studied at Konstfack (Stockholm), the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad), the Stavanger School of Art and participated in the Van Eyck Academie (Maastricht). She won the Høstutstillingsprisen BKV in 2023. Ihle has previously shown works at, among others, the National Museum’s opening exhibition, Nils Aas Kunstverksted, Nitja and Podium in Norway, as well as Konsthall C and Uppsala Konstmuseum in Sweden, CAC Brétigny in France, The Living Art Museum in Iceland and the Venice Biennale for Architecture.
