Born in The Netherlands, Pieper studied at the Royal College of Art in The Hague, the Netherlands and the Norfolk Institute of Fine Art in the UK. She works with printmaking, collage, installation and painting. She has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, and is included in public and private collections. Currently she lives and works in Stavanger, Norway.

Pieper’s work is inspired by being in the landscape and is an exploration of how physically wandering can lead to mental wandering. Her interest lies in the bridge between the outer and inner landscapes: how one can influence the other. Books from her past and present, their stories, poetry or as an object are an important starting point for her work. She sees them as a bridge between inner and outer worlds, push her imagination, encourage self reflection and offer an escape from her own mind.
