My practice is primarily camera-based, working with digital and analog photography, video, and cyanotype. Since 2019, I have also been working with watercolor. A recurring theme in my work is an exploration of the intersection between documentation and the artistic gaze. There is often a direct connection between the works and the places I have explored. Last couple of years I have worked with projects about the ocean and on landscape of ice and snow. One question I ask myself is how photography, despite being closely tied to reality, can shift our perspective and infiltrate our memory.

Part of my practice explores my family history and the poetic aspects of everyday life.

I have had a number of solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions, including at Tromsø Kunstforening, Akershus Kunstsenter, Galleri F15, RAM Galleri, Haugesund Billedgalleri, and Preus Museum. My work has been acquired by the Norwegian Arts Council, Haugalandmuseet, Preus Museum, and I am represented in the National Museum’s (Robert Meyer’s Collection). I am an Associate Professor of Photography at the Art Academy in Bergen. I have curated several exhibitions, including Av Natur, Preus Museum (2023), and Sakte Bilder at Lillehammer Art Museum (2016).
